Testicle Festival '09

9th Annual Testicle Festival
Ok, so if you aren't from around here, let me explain... We have this little festival here that is actually a huge fundraiser for usually a child in need. This year it is for a little boy who has cancer. It is called the Testicle Festival, and yes we live in a ranching community and yes, they serve Rocky Mt. Oysters. but for the most part, it is rodeo events, and a golf tournament, and this year they had a benefit auction. My friend Amanda's husband started it 9 yrs ago, and it has grown larger every year. We proudly wear our festival shirts and hats, and enjoy all that the festival has to offer. No I don't eat the Oysters, but Tanner and Austin do. Yuck!! Here is the link to the website if you want to know more.

Here is Bryce displaying this years shirt I don't know why this turned out so blurry but you get the idea! (yes, we had another mishap, this time with a door frame, it probably could have been glued, but I didn't dare take him to the clinic, so I just used butterfly tape, It is beginning to look like a repeat of last year)

This is the back of the shirt

Tanner and Bryce trying to catch a rabbit. It is Tanner's last year, the announcer asked if he was too old (because he is so tall 5'8")

Summer Begins...

Well, Summer Vacation is officially here, along with our first set of stitches for this year. Yes it was Austin this time. A rock met his head! Last summer we started with Bryce and stitches, and proceeded to have 3 broken arms and one of my knee surgeries so we are hoping this year doesn't follow suit. Although we already have Tanner scheduled to have his tonsils out on June 8th.
Oh well, I guess it is the life with boys! I am just so grateful for good insurance!
Here are some pictures of Austin's head wound. Although if you are squeamish, you may not want to look at them.

And there it is

waiting for the doc.

All stitched up!

3 new posts

Ok, so I have been a slacker, as usual but here are 3 new posts, if you get sick of camping posts, you might just have to ignore my blog for about 4 months!
Natalie, all these pictures were taken with my Nikon D60 so you can see if you like it or not.
I love it!

2nd Camping Trip-Soda Lake

This weekend, we went to Soda Lake by Pinedale Wy
When Jason and I were first married, we went to this lake in Wy with some good friends, the wives weren't very impressed with the scenery! But we had fun and when we found out what the fish were biting on, we had a blast catching a ton of fish!! It was so much fun!
For 15 yrs Jason has wanted to go back so we finally did! It is about 3-31/2 hrs away, so it isn't close by, but we got up there, and set everything up, but the fish weren't biting, but we had fun just camping, then in the morning Jason caught a nice brown, but you can only keep 1 fish per day per fishing license, so he threw it back so we could catch more, but we didn't catch anymore! Not for lack of trying though! The Game Warden stopped by and Jason talked to him. He told Jason that when we were there 15 yrs ago the lake had about 40,000 fish, now only about 3,000 mostly due to winter kill! He said there are still some huge fish, but they are hard to catch. Bummer!
It was still fun to go as a family without TV, Internet, Video Games, House work! etc.
If anyone wants to go camping, give us a call, we have caught the bug!

Hanging out in the Trailer
When I was a kid, we loved to play cribbage (Angie) while Camping, so now I am teaching my kids to play Bryce and I had a lot of fun, Tanner is starting to learn!

Jason fishing
the kids thought it looks like he is walking on water (he has his hip boots on and he is standing on a rock

good form Austin!

Bryce fishing

Bryce put on Jason's hip boots so he could go out in the water, but they were a little too big for him, and he tripped and fell in!
Good thing he could take a warm shower!

Getting ready to leave, even Misty was ready to go!

1St camping trip of the season

We finally got the chance to try out our new trailer last weekend!

We just went up the road about 20 min.to Woodruff Crick (if you live here, you have to say crick not creek!) so we could be close to home if anything went wrong we could just run home. But we had so much fun! we were the only ones around, we didn't see anybody else the whole time we were there!

We had a campfire, road 4-wheelers, and motorcycle, and fished and the kids hiked up a steep hill to get to some rocks (see pics below) it was a great weekend to spend as a family!
