2nd Camping Trip-Soda Lake

This weekend, we went to Soda Lake by Pinedale Wy
When Jason and I were first married, we went to this lake in Wy with some good friends, the wives weren't very impressed with the scenery! But we had fun and when we found out what the fish were biting on, we had a blast catching a ton of fish!! It was so much fun!
For 15 yrs Jason has wanted to go back so we finally did! It is about 3-31/2 hrs away, so it isn't close by, but we got up there, and set everything up, but the fish weren't biting, but we had fun just camping, then in the morning Jason caught a nice brown, but you can only keep 1 fish per day per fishing license, so he threw it back so we could catch more, but we didn't catch anymore! Not for lack of trying though! The Game Warden stopped by and Jason talked to him. He told Jason that when we were there 15 yrs ago the lake had about 40,000 fish, now only about 3,000 mostly due to winter kill! He said there are still some huge fish, but they are hard to catch. Bummer!
It was still fun to go as a family without TV, Internet, Video Games, House work! etc.
If anyone wants to go camping, give us a call, we have caught the bug!

Soda Lake

Jason and Tanner and Austin fishing (can you see them?)

Hanging out in the Trailer
When I was a kid, we loved to play cribbage (Angie) while Camping, so now I am teaching my kids to play Bryce and I had a lot of fun, Tanner is starting to learn!

Jason fishing
the kids thought it looks like he is walking on water (he has his hip boots on and he is standing on a rock

good form Austin!

Bryce fishing

Bryce put on Jason's hip boots so he could go out in the water, but they were a little too big for him, and he tripped and fell in!
Good thing he could take a warm shower!

Getting ready to leave, even Misty was ready to go!

I do remember playing cribbage with you all the time, but I don't think I remember how to play anymore. I'm going to need a lesson to jog this old memory of mine.
Do eat fish now? I remember sitting in your basement and throwing the fish out the window because we didn't want to eat it. :)
I love your trailer! What great memories your kids will have. Oh, a great way to make smores is to put the marshmallow between two fudge stripe cookies. They have the graham cracker and chocolate all in one and it's FABULOUS!!!
