Petersen Reunion '09

We went to Jason's Petersen Family Reunion this last weekend, and I have to say, it was the best reunion I have been to! Thanks Randy for putting it together!
This year they had reserved a park that is very secluded, which really helps out with keeping an eye on the kids, and we had camping, skeet shooting, numerous card games going on, we went bowling and tons of great food! To end it all, we had the usuall waterfight starting with Jason and his cousin's daughter Kaylee, when will she ever learn, that Jason always has the upper hand?

Camping at Palisades

In June we found out that our oldest son Tanner will be having surgery on Aug. 5 and he will have casts on his feet for 10 weeks, so we have been trying to fit all of our summer into July!

WE HAVE BEEN BUSY!

We have had swimming lessons, and golf lessons, and have gone camping and had family reunions all in the last few weeks, so here are some of the pictures from our camping trip to Palisades.

I thought these canoes looked neat Red White and Blue

A view of Beautiful Palisades!

This is why I have always loved Palisades!

Jason bought the boys some float tubes, so they were able to try them out, unfortunatly, Jason didn't get much fishing done, because he had to help the boys, and they only caught 1 fish, but they had fun!

Tanner and Jason

Mom and Dad and my Great-Grandma (GG) came up and ate dinner with us one night, it was great! I was so glad that they could come and have some outdoor fun with us! These are the memories I want my kids to have!

Tanner with a very content look on his face!

Dad, Bryce, Mom, Austin, Tanner and G.G.

Austin loves his marshmallows, he couldn't just do one at a time, he had to do 3!

G. G. decided that she wanted a hot dog (even though we just ate KFC...poor G.G., she got sick on the way home!)

Austin was so tired, but he didn't want the day to end, so he fell asleep on the camp chair! We did move him to the trailer later!

Day Trip

Last week, we decided to take a road trip, Jason loves history, and he had been wanting to go to Paris, Id and go through the tabernacle there, they give tours of it. So I thought if we were headed that way anyways, let's to to Minnetonka Cave. It was really fun, the tabernacle was really cool, it is so neat to see the architecture in it!
The Cave about did me in! 888 steps! with a really steep section of 71 stairs they call the stairway to heaven! They have a guide take you through it, it has lights all along the way so you don't even need a flashlight, but you do need a jacket, because it is a constant 40 degrees in the cave. They think that this cave may be 150 miles long! That would make it the longest known cave in the world! My legs felt like jello when we were done, but it was worth it! After the cave, we decided to drive into Montpellier to eat dinner. There is a little pizza place there that we really like so we stopped and ate dinner, then we drove through a little town called Dingle and around the East side of Bear Lake to come home, it was a fun day out with the family! I think we are going to try to go to Fossil Bute Monument by Kemmerer sometime in the next couple of weeks.
This is the Paris, ID tabernacle

Austin being goofy as usual!

4th of July

We went to I.F. for the 4th as usual this year, it was kindof a bummer, because only one of my siblings was able to be there, but it was good to see her, and other family! We had a couple of BBQ's and they were fun I love to be able to visit with family that I only see 1-2 times a year (if that) We were going to skip the parade, but Bryce and Austin wanted to go, so we walked down, and got our seats, about 1/2 way through the parade (1 hr) I asked the kids if they wanted to go back to the house and they agreed (yea) so that was enough for me. That night we went to the fireworks, which are always awsome in I.F. We were late, but actually had a great view! Next year I think we are going to try to camp at Heise Hot springs, where they have swimming pools and water slide tubes, a golf course, camping, and fishing. Then just go into I.F. on the 4th for the family BBQ's and fireworks!

We did get to spend a few hours with my bro. Brandons girls, before they left for Utah.
Mom pulled out the sidewalk chalk and the kids had fun tracing thier bodies, then decorating there, here is Addison Painting her pink legs

Tanner is tracing August

My mom also pulled out the 4th of July tattoos that she bought, August and Austin had fun putting them all over thier bodies! Austin even had one behind his ear!

The fireworks were awsome as usual! we had a mixup with vehicles, and my camera got left at the house in our van, so these were from my iphone, but I think they turned out pretty good for a phone!
